Technical Co-Sponsor CSAWWA has applied to the Maryland Department of the Environment for continuing education credits, for state-issued water and wastewater operator licenses.

Maryland-licensed engineers can use the PDH’s towards their continuing education requirements.

Out of state attendees, can use the ISA and CSAWWA-issued CEUs or PDHs to meet the continuing education requirements for various types of licenses and certifications. For example, in most states and Canadian provinces, AWWA-certified CEUs from another state are usually recognized for water and wastewater operator licenses. The same is true for PDHs for professional engineers.

Furthermore, ISA members who have the CSST, CAP, and CAP-associate certifications can use the symposium and course PDHs towards their continuing education requirement as well.

Continuing Education as a Package

For water/wastewater utilities, the symposium offers a cost-effective way to meet the continuing education requirements for plant engineering, operations and maintenance staff.

  • CEU = continuing education unit
  • PDH = professional development hour

The Chesapeake AWWA is a registered education provider with Maryland Department of the Environment, and has granted us a registered MDE “course number” is TBD.

Attendees of the Electrical Noise Effects on Instrumentation Control Equipment (TI21C) optional short course will also be able to receive 0.7 CEUs via the CSAWWA. The Chesapeake AWWA is a registered education provider with Maryland Department of the Environment, and has granted us a registered MDE “course number” is TBD.

The CEU certificates can be used by both Maryland-state licensed water operators and wastewater operators. The PDH certificate can be used by Maryland licensed professional engineers (PE). The certificates themselves will be issued by the CSAWWA. Most other state water/wastewater jurisdictions will recognize the CSAWWA-issued CEUs, thanks to reciprocity agreements.
