Josh is a senior automation/instrumentation and control (I&C) engineer with over 12 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry. His experience includes all aspects of system design and integration, including project management, estimation, control system design/specification, programming, system implementation, and startup. He has expertise in programmable logic controllers (PLC), process control systems (PCS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, communication networks, human machine interface (HMI) design and configuration, and he has managed numerous projects.
Josh began his career in automation as a co-op student with Westin Engineering while earning his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2001. After graduation, he accepted a full-time position with Westin Engineering in Fairfax, VA working on several high-profile automation projects. In 2005, Josh accepted a position with CDM Smith in Fairfax, VA where he supervises the Automation Group for the Mid Atlantic region. He will be receiving his M.S. in Engineering Technology Management from Oklahoma State University at the end of December.
In addition to ISA, Josh has been heavily involved with the Virginia Sections of American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Water Environment Association (VWEA) where he previously served as Chair of the joint IT Committee. This will be Josh’s first year of serving on the WWAC Symposium Program Committee.
